We positioned the screw organizer on the left of the mat for distance from the grounding point, helping ensure the cable never interferes with screw tracking and organization. Power Connector Pin-out
We designed these with resistors to slow the discharge to best protect components. Our Modmat includes a pin-out diagram for the terminating device-end of power supply cables, supplying quick reference material for 12V rails (for easy current clamping or monitoring), 5V rails, and jump start pins on the 24-pin connector. We also included wiring diagrams for 6-pin and 8-pin PCIe and EPS12V cables, with peripheral wiring diagrams including 4-pin MOLEX and SATA data and power cables. If you ever need to take a multimeter to your cables to check for continuity or voltage, the GN Modmat will make it easy. The first GamersNexus tear-down toolkit took a year of development to manufacture, with that time going into tuning and dialing-in tool quality for long service life. We just spent another year updating the tools to have permanent tool label engravings in the handle that will survive heavy use, we’ve flattened the hex heads to better clear PCB components, and we’ve eliminated all single-use plastic bags from the tools. These tools are made out of a CRV steel (Chromium-Vanadium) for strength, with the two hex heads made of A3 steel to allow our customization. We made custom molds for the tool rods, opting for a 100mm (~3.9in) rod length for the best balance of weight and torque.
